Needle in a Haystack Art Co., located near downtown Cave City, KY, is looking for 12–15 artists to join our new artist-run cooperative gallery and retail space.We’re looking to cultivate a space that celebrates originality and craftsmanship-- from printmaking, ceramics, and painting to jewelry, textiles, woodwork, and more. We aim to create an accessible, artist-led space that uplifts local makers and connects the community through art.This opportunity is especially ideal for art students or emerging artists who want to learn the ins and outs of selling their work and engage directly with customers. Co-op artists have the chance to gain real-world experience in retail display, pricing, merchandising, and customer relations (all within a supportive, collaborative environment)!Artists can participate in two ways:
• Standard Consignment (70/30 split): You create and we handle the rest.
• Co-Op Membership (80/20 split): Work in the shop at least two days per month (greeting customers, running the register, helping with displays, etc.) and enjoy a higher commission rate.Beyond selling your work, co-op members will also have the opportunity to host their own events and workshops (think art demonstrations, classes, pop-ups, or community gatherings)! It’s a chance to share your craft, grow your audience, and help shape the creative culture of our region.Shop Hours:
Tuesday–Thursday, 10 AM–5 PM, with occasional weekends as availability allows. Seasonal hours will vary!We’re looking for artists who:
• Create original, handmade work
• Value collaboration and community
• Want to grow their creative practice and connect with others

On weekends, Needle in a Haystack Art Co. turns into a cozy, private tattoo space run by Cassi Payne, the artist behind Honeykak Tattoo. Cassi aims to make every appointment comfortable, safe, and accommodating (especially for women, LGBTQIA+ folks, or anyone who’s ever felt nervous about getting tattooed)!She’s drawn to memorial tattoos, body affirming tattoos, or anything that resonates. Her style lies somewhere between fine line, illustrative, blackwork.Cassi loves tattooing botanicals, creatures and critters, magical themes, and anything that celebrates self-expression and healing.

The shop minimum is $60.
Cassi's hourly rate is $120/hr, but she offers set price flash and guarantees a quote for every inquiry. A deposit is required to reserve an appointment time.For an appointment, please send her a private message on Instagram here or fill out her form below.Cassi handles all of her own scheduling, bookkeeping, and messages, so responses may take a little time (especially on weekends)!
